Dr. Israel Suarez

Nominated by Chief Douglas Baker of the Fort Myers Police Department, Dr. Suarez, the CEO of the Nations Association Charities, established the Drug Stop Team in the early 1990”s.  Recently the Drug Stop Team was reactivated and revamped to allow for the youth in the community to be actively involved in addressing issues of concern to them.  The Drug Stop Team focuses on a proactive approach.  Since the spring of 2009 the Drug Stop Team has proven their commitment through time, support, and inspiration to all the Fort Myers Police Department’s Crime Prevention initiatives.  They are the first ones to arrive and the last to leave. 

The Drug Stop Team is all about inclusion.  Every youth in the community is welcome to join provided that they are ready to be active and are equipped to roll up their sleeves and make a positive change in their community.  They rally and march against drugs, violence, crime, gangs and hate.  They work together as a team and encourage education and support for each other in reaching their academic goals. 

The FCPA is proud to award the “Outstanding Crime Prevention Organization” to Dr. Israel Suarez of the Nations Association Charities.
