Polk County Sheriff's Office - Citizen’s Assisted Patrol

The FCPA is proud to honor the Polk County Sheriff's Office Citizen’s Assisted Patrol as this year’s winner of the Outstanding Crime Prevention Program of the Year. Comprising of over 2100 volunteers and representing 35 separate communities, the unit completed 16,090 patrols and logging over 62,872 hours, representing a cost savings of over 1 million dollars to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

After attending a training program the unit patrols unincorporated Polk County and several cities, utilizing specially marked golf carts, patrol vehicles, bicycles and on foot.

The members of the Florida Crime Prevention congratulate the Polk County Citizen’s Assisted Patrol as this year’s Outstanding Crime Prevention Program.
